Kyoto Imperial Palace
Rich in tradition, Kyoto Imperial Palace preserves the look and ambiance of the Palace as it had been in the time of Japan’s ancient imperial dynasties. The current Palace was rebuilt in 1855 and comprises several structures–including the Shisinden, the Seiryoden, the Kogosyo, the Ogakumonjyo, and the Otsunegoten–that reflect the architectural styles of various periods. (according to the website of the Imperial Household Agency)
Sento Imperial Palace
Sento Imperial Palace was built on the occasion of the Emperor Gomizunoo’s retirement at the beginning of the seventeenth century. Although the palace itself was lost to fire in 1854 and was not subsequently reconstructed, its gardens and teahouses remain. (according to the website of the Imperial Household Agency)
Katsura Imperial Villa
Constructed during the early and mid-seventeenth century by Toshihito Shinno and Toshitada Shinno, the first and second generations of the Hachijo-no-Miya family, Katsura Imperial Villa features what is said to be the most beautiful Japanese garden. (according to the website of the Imperial Household Agency)
Shugakuin Imperial Villa
Constructed by the order of the Emperor Gomizunoo in the mid-seventeenth century, Shugakuin Imperial Villa consists of three villas (Lower, Middle, and Upper). Its incorporation of the surrounding natural scenery into the garden design is typical of Japanese architecture. (according to the website of the Imperial Household Agency)

PanoPlaza for Store Management in Don Quijote Co.,Ltd
2013年3月
Press Release
6th March 2013
Kadinche Corporation
PanoPlaza for Store Management in Don Quijote Co.,Ltd
– Sharing Virtualized Store on the Intranet –
Kadinche corp. announces that discount chain store Don Quijote Co.,Ltd. adopted PanoPlaza to share panorama virtual shops on their intranet.
Background:
Don Quijote is famous for its store design and display with full of merchandises. Conventionally when the new store opens or the store’s interior changes staffs from the headquarter and other stores needed to visit each store to share the know-how of merchandise shelves. Since Don Quijote has hundreds of stores all over Japan and it’s difficult for them to go around all the stores.
Solution:
With PanoPlaza they have constructed a framework to check stores on line. They are using one shot panorama camera and upload panorama photos to PanoPlaza. Then they create panorama virtual tours of their shops and share them within their group or their company. This framework shortens the time of sharing newly opened store’s display environment and reduced the cost of store management and transportation.
Outcome:
Since April 2012 when Don Quijote started to use PanoPlaza, about 600 panorama photos in 21 stores have been uploaded on PanoPlaza. This covers 50,000 square meters of store area and speeds up intelligence sharing within the company.
Here are some articles on Panoplaza in English. Please check them and let me know if you have any comments or questions.
Many members of Kadinche had read Chris Anderson’s book titled “Makers: The New Industrial Revolution“. The book is saying that our world will be changed by the makers with 3D printers and other 3D objects creating devices.
Over the past ten years, the internet has democratised publishing, broadcasting and communications, leading to a massive increase in the range of participation in everything digital – the world of bits. Now the same is happening to manufacturing – the world of things. Chris Anderson, bestselling author of “The Long Tail”, explains how this is happening: how such technologies as 3D printing and electronics assembly are becoming available to everybody, and how people are building successful businesses as a result. Whereas once every aspiring entrepreneur needed the support of a major manufacturer, now anybody with a smart idea and a little expertise can make their ideas a reality. The next industrial revolution is on its way.
Yes we too are quiet exciting about this makers movement. And actually our CTO purchased one 3D printer, Makerbot’s Replicator2.
3D Printer: Makerbot Replicator2
You can feel the future by seeing how the 3D printer works. This printer’s print technology is fused filament fabrication and it creates plastic object with single color. There is so many better and more expensive 3D printing devices in the world but this printer is good enough for us to create some prototype objects. For most of palm-size objects, it takes about an hour to print it out.
Creating Camera Mounter by 3D Printer
So what should we create first by using this future machine? Because we are the company currently working on panorama photo contents, our CTO created the camera mounter for small DSLR Sony NEX-5. This camera mounter help us going for casual photo shooting with its lightness. To design this 3D shape, he used free CAD software called OpenSCAD.
Business in 3D Printer Era
We actually shoot panorama photos and succeeded taking stable photos with this self-made camera mounter. You wanna purchase one for you? Please contact us from Contact Page so that we can discuss about price and shipment!
It’s so interesting to think about the business model using 3D objects. It’s good idea to create and sell niche objects to realize the long tail marketing of real objects. And it’s also good idea to create web platform on which users can share their 3D models. Let’s enjoy this self made 3D objects era!
